How to work with me this summer

Summer is a great time for grade 11 and 12 students to prep for university admission and scholarships!

Here are the ways students can work with me this summer:

Students entering grade 12 in September 2020

Grade 12 is a student’s best opportunity for a scholarship – EVER!

There will never be another time in a person's life when there are more scholarships and less competition.

Once students get into grade 12 they get super busy, so the best time to prepare for admission and scholarships is before they get wrapped up in “all the things” in grade 12.

Learn how to find and apply for scholarships by working with me this summer!

Grade 12 students can work with me in 3 ways:

1. Sign up for my Grade 12 prep program. $799 per student. This is the most personalized way to work with me. This program is for students going into grade 12 who are planning to apply for several scholarships, and possibly for competitive programs that involve a personal statement for admission.

For example, if your student is thinking about applying for one or more of the Loran, Schulich, TD Leadership, or any major university scholarship, they will want to be in my Prep Program. And, if a student is applying to a university or program with a personal statement, e.g. UBC, Queen’s, Waterloo engineering, etc. they will want to be in my Prep Program.

The program will run once this summer, during August 2020. Numbers are kept small (up to 4 people) to ensure individual attention. The program has two group sessions (with all members of the small group in attendance), as well as several one-to-one sessions with me. It takes place over 4 weeks in August, and it’s on a fixed schedule. Contact me at Janet@mycampusGPS.ca to request the schedule.

We discuss your plans for university programs, admission, and scholarships. I help you with whatever you feel you need most. You will learn all about scholarships, including how to find them, and how to write a scholarship essay. You will write a practice essay and I will review it and provide you with personal feedback on it.

Through the program, you’ll receive several templates, helpful resources, and a copy of my new guidebook, How to Find and Win Scholarships.

This is your all-in-one package for motivated students entering grade 12 in September.

2. Sign up for one of my Scholarship Essay Writing Workshops. $149.00 per student. This summer, I’ll hold a few small group (up to 6 students) workshops where students will learn how to write their best essays for scholarships.

Each workshop is 2.5 hours long. It’s hands-on, applied learning, not just passive listening. Students will write a practice essay during the workshop that they can then use on scholarship applications. Students will also get several helpful resources to use after the workshop has ended. This is a great way to get a whole lot of useful information in a short time!

Add an essay review for $50 – after the workshop, students can have their completed essay reviewed by Janet for an additional $50 fee for a total of $199.00. The review includes specific comments on how the student can improve the essay.

It’s easy to read, and full of tips, techniques, and strategies. This guidebook is for students, parents, and anyone else who helps students with scholarships. It’s a fast, easy, and practical way to get the scholarship process started!

Students entering grade 11 in September 2020

Grade 11 is an important year! Students’ grades and extra-curricular activities in grade 11 will impact their admission and opportunities for scholarships in grade 12. Read more about why grade 11 is so important.

Grade 11 students can work with me in 3 ways:

1. Book a one hour strategy session. $149.00. Grade 11 students (and their parents, if you wish) can meet with Janet online for a one hour meeting where we can discuss admission, scholarships, and whatever else you have questions about. Janet can provide you with some tips on how to make the most of grade 11 to best prepare for scholarships in grade 12.

And, of course, they will also learn how to write a great scholarship essay.
