Over a decade of experience

at your service.

mycampusGPS was created in response to the confusion and anxiety high school students and their parents face when preparing for university. There’s so much information, and so many choices -- it can feel overwhelming!

What I learned in over a decade of experience working in university admission and scholarship consulting is this: most often what young people need is for someone with the right information and expertise to help guide them, step-by-step, through the process.  That's what I do!

Meet Scholarship Coach Janet MacDonald

Janet MacDonald has over 10 years of experience with university admissions and scholarship coaching.  Janet was an Assistant Registrar of Admissions at Dalhousie University and an Admissions Officer at The University of British Columbia.  For six years she was the Program Coordinator for a national science and engineering research scholarship program.

Janet has helped Canadian students win hundreds of thousands of dollars in scholarships.

She loves her job!

Janet’s blog was named one of the top education blogs in Canada.

Enlightening and current

"As a former teacher and the parent of a Grade 11 student, I found the information provided by mycampusGPS consulting (Janet MacDonald) enlightening and current.  Janet articulated how to successfully navigate the complex admission and scholarships processes, and used real-world examples to illustrate.   I now feel much better equipped to help my child when the time comes."

- Tim, father of Grade 11 student

Invaluable help

"We had no previous experience with the scholarship application process, and found Janet's help in navigating the applications to be invaluable."

- Lynn, parent of Grade 12 student

Expert in her field

"Janet recommended scholarships for my daughter and critiqued her essays. Janet answered all of my daughter's questions about scholarships and had great insight on ways to strengthen her essays and respond to application questions. I found Janet to be an expert in her field and I highly recommend her to any student preparing for university."

- Meg, parent of Grade 12 student
